Thamarana is the merge of my 2nd name (THAMAR) and part of my 1st name Anabel (ANA). It’s the digital nickname for Anabel Navarro Camero if you google it you will find my digital fingerprint.
I have more than ten years of experience in communications with social, political, cultural, and entrepreneurial projects, specialized in digital media. I am a human rights activist and Journalist, from the Catholic University Andres Bello (UCAB) in Caracas, Venezuela. I decided to venture into the path of entrepreneurship and created Thamarana Media in Atlanta, we provide consultancy in digital media, branding, PR, production, and integrated marketing strategies to multicultural projects.
For the last 4 years, I have been focused on communications and marketing for the Hispanic community in the US. One of my prominent projects has been with the digital and printed outlet Mundo Hispánico. Working with them I had the opportunity to work with national brands such Toyota, Taxslayer, Lala, and Macy’s, as well distinguished Georgia-based brands.
I had the opportunity to bring results on a broad range of services, providing strategies and plans, or working had on hand through the development of brands creation, social media presence management, and optimization; digital reputation strategies, content creation, copywriting and proofreading, SEO strategies, event production (digitally and in-person), influencers campaigns, Facebook and Google ADs campaigns, everything to make sure the brands connect with their target audience.
Since 2019 I am a member of the Women’s Board (EME) at the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GHCC). I am serving as a Creative Director for the 2021-2022 committee. In mid-2021 I graduated from the Crecer program, a business-oriented program of GHCC and University of Georgia Small Business Development Center (UGA SBDC).
In 2020 I graduated from the Cultivating Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) of the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development at Georgia University and the GHCC.
Between 2019 and 2020 I served as a Digital Marketing mentor for the Hispana Realizada Club.
In 2017 I graduated from the “Women’s Economic Empowerment Program” (Avanzando Juntas) of The Latin American Association in Atlanta, Georgia; where my main project was “Business and marketing plan for BERAKAH ideas (Now Thamarana Media)”. That year I also joined the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GHCC) and its chapter Hispanic Young Professional Entrepreneur (HYPE).
In 2016 I graduates from the “Global Competitiveness Leadership Program” at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. In Venezuela, I had also completed the Leadership and Public Policies Program (LIDERA) at the IESA, Venezuela’s leading management institution. That year I also finished my role with the World Movement for Democracy, I developed the digital and grassroots campaign called #SetThemFree for the release of political prisoners from around the world. Such a campaign was launched at the United States Capitol in May 2015.
Back in Venezuela, for years I coordinated successful projects and campaigns with the international organization Un Mundo Sin Mordaza (A world without censorship) to defend and promote human rights and freedom of expression through art, culture, and creativity around the world. One of the prominent projects was the big worldwide campaign “SOS Venezuela” in 2014. After which I had to emigrate. In 2013, as this organization’s CEO, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) recognized me as one of the under 30 activists working for a better future in the world.
Through all these experiences, I developed broad communications skills for organizations, projects management –including teamwork and fund-raising; and crisis management. I like to focus on social impact projects, sustainable development, creativity, and strategy. I enjoy helping projects improve their communications and impact.
